SATHANUR CROCODILE FARM

The Crocodile farm is being maintained by the Forest Department since 1977. This crocodile farm is situated at the South – east corner of Sathanur dam which is 35kms distance from Thiruvannamalai.

At present 395 Nos of Marsh crocodiles (crocodilus palustris) are there in the farm.The entrance fee for each individual is Rs.0.50 (fifty paise). The visiting hours fixed is 6AM to 6PM in all weekly days.

The crocodiles are being fed with 140 kgs of beef for 2 days and 100kgs of fish for 2 days in every week.Children’s park and toilet facilities are also available in the premises of the crocodile farm.
